Not only have we moved into a new decade, we are also moving into a new version of Cobra, 9.0 due out at the end of February. We have had some great input from our customers and some incredible brainstorming sessions here at Cobra, so great that they wouldn’t fit into 8.9.

Some of the new features include changes in the Checkbook Center, Kits, Pages number are now alpha/numeric and 12 characters long, WIP report now includes both Budget hours and Actual hours, Submittals for Customers, Document center in the Pricebook, upgrades in the Permits Tab, a new Permits report, the ability to send meetings or job assignments directly to your workers Outlook Calendar, from Cobra’s Schedule and Dispatch center, just to name a few.

But, we‘ve saved the biggest and the best for last!! You can now e-mail documents and reports directly from Cobra, one click of a button, and off it goes! Cobra now works with Microsoft Outlook!! All you need is a valid e-mail address for your customers or suppliers. If you are not currently using Microsoft Outlook don’t worry, we’ve created a PDF button, just click this button from any preview screen (including reports) and Cobra will create the PDF, which in turn can be attached to any e-mail program.

This new version will require a new runtime CD; this will be mailed out to all our customers under a service contract. If you’ve let your contract lapse you may want to contact Cobra.

This is very exciting for those of us at Cobra! We look forward to hearing all your feedback!
